Call for papers

We invite papers on any of the following themes that include but are not limited to the following topics:

• Exploring text and chart integration such as captioning and annotations, summary generation, and accessibility tools.

• Interactive natural language interfaces that support text/voice input, mixed-initiative interaction, and different form factors, including chatbots and other smart assistants.

• Text and document visualization that supports exploratory text analysis, information retrieval, and faceted search.

• Machine learning techniques that incorporate human feedback for NLP-based tasks, as well as datasets for benchmarking and training.

• Visualization and statistical graphing tools for linguistic data that include social media content and news articles.

• Semantic approaches for visual analytics such as data enrichment, summary generation, and reasoning of patterns found in data.

• HCI methods and evaluation methodologies for formative and summative studies to assess the utility and effectiveness of visual analysis systems incorporating NLP techniques

Submission details

• The submissions will be made through the PCS (Precision Conference Solutions) website..

• The workshop accepts papers that are 2 to 6 pages in length (excluding references).

• All submissions must be in IEEE VGTC Conference Style Template format. We also encourage authors to submit a short video of their work, if applicable.

• Submissions can belong to one or more of the traditional IEEE VIS paper types, including technique & algorithm, system, application & design study, empirical study, or theory & model. Note, however, that this is not a hard constraint, and other types of submissions (e.g., position papers, description of demos showcasing work in progress, case studies) are also welcome.

• At least one author for an accepted paper needs to register for the conference (at least the workshop registration).

• The submissions should NOT be anonymized and must include the full name of authors, their email, and affiliation.
